PARKING IN THE VILLAGEThe Village of Farmingdale operates nine (9) municipal parking lots throughout the Village. Municipal Lots will be monitored through metered parking and parking permits as detailed below.

Parking in Railroad Station Lots:
A railroad parking permit or metered parking is required at the railroad station Monday through Friday between the hours of 4AM and 4PM.
Farmingdale Railroad Station Resident Parking
A Resident Railroad Permit is available to Village of Farmingdale residents.
If you are unsure if your residence is located within the Village, please click HERE to display the Village map. If your Village residence is not the address that is printed on your vehicle registration, you must also supply a utility bill such as National Grid (LIPA) or apartment rental agreement as proof.
Farmingdale Railroad Station Non-Resident Parking
There is currently a waiting list for applicants that reside outside the Village of Farmingdale and is constantly updated, please call the Village Court Clerk for additional information (516-293-2292) or to add your name.
Temporary daytime railroad parking permits (2 week maximum) are available for a fee to Village of Farmingdale residents and non-residents in the Village Clerk’s Office during regular business hours.
Parking in Downtown Lots and Main St.
Municipal lots #1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7 and Main St. between S. Front St and Prospect St:
The Village will have metered parking Monday through Saturday between 5PM and 1AM. Meter fees can be paid at Pay Stations or via the Paybyphone mobile parking app. There will be NO parking fee during daily operations Monday through Saturday 1AM-5PM and all day Sunday; however, a 3 hour time restriction will apply.
Village residents can obtain a parking permit for use in all downtown lots and Main St. and will not be required to use the Pay Stations or the Paybyphone mobile parking app.
Downtown Resident Parking Application
Employee parking permits are available to employees of downtown commercial properties. Municipal lots #1, 2, 3 and 4 and along the railroad tracks will have available employee parking Monday through Friday 6AM-5PM. Employee parking permits will be honored Monday through Saturday 5PM-1AM and no fee will be required at employee parking spaces only, metered parking will be enforced at all other locations. Non-Metered Parking Lots
During certain hours the Village will have lots available for free that are walking distance to the downtown area.
There is no fee for parking at:
Municipal lot #9 - located off Melville Rd along the railroad tracks, all hours.
Howitt Middle School Lot – located off Cherry St., Thursday through Saturday between 5PM and 1AM.
Railroad Station - after 4PM, Monday through Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday
